LONDON -- The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) of the United Kingdom rose by 2.3 percent in the 12 months to April 2024, down from 3.2 percent in March, showed official data released on Wednesday.

"The annual rate in April 2024 was the lowest since July 2021, when it was two percent," said the Office for National Statistics (ONS). (Britain-Economy-CPI)

ACCRA -- Ghana will receive 150 million U.S. dollars in financing from the World Bank Group this year for flood mitigation and solid waste management, the country's Finance Ministry announced in a statement late Tuesday.

The financing, approved by parliament, will fund the implementation of solid waste management, drainage improvements and other flood mitigation measures under the Greater Accra Resilient and Integrated Development (GARID) Project, according to the statement. (Ghana-Financing-World Bank)

SINGAPORE -- The Singapore economy grew 2.7 percent year-on-year in the first three months of 2024, extending the 2.2 percent expansion in the previous quarter, according to the quarterly economic survey issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry Thursday.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan's Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik, said on Wednesday that his country would increase the production of indigenous petroleum products to reduce import bills.
