Malaysian conglomerate Sime Darby's Q3 profit up on increased revenue

KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian conglomerate Sime Darby has reported higher earnings for the third quarter ending March 31, 2024, due to increased revenue.

The firm said in a bourse filing on Thursday that its net profit jumped 41.7 percent year on year to 340 million ringgit (72.17 million U.S. dollars) in the third quarter, as its revenue surged 63.4 percent year on year to 18.8 billion ringgit.

As for the first three quarters, the firm's net profit soared to 3.22 billion ringgit from 836 million ringgit as its revenue rose 38.1 percent year on year to 48.34 billion ringgit. (1 ringgit equals 0.21 U.S. dollar) Enditem
