ADEN, Yemen -- The Yemeni Houthi group on Friday claimed to have conducted multiple military strikes targeting commercial vessels in regional maritime zones, including the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Mediterranean.

According to a statement by the group's military spokesman Yahya Sarea, the Houthis in its first operation fired ballistic missiles at the Israeli-flagged container ship MSC ALEXANDRA while it was transiting the Arabian Sea. (Yemen-Houthis-Attacks)

THE HAGUE -- The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Friday ordered Israel to stop its military offensive in Rafah, with immediate effect.

MOGADISHU -- The European Union (EU) anti-piracy force (EUNAVFOR) said Friday that a Liberian-flagged merchant vessel, Basilisk, has been freed from suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia.

SYDNEY -- The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported on Friday that about 100 people were feared dead after a huge landslide battered a remote village in Papua New Guinea.

HANOI -- A fire at a rental building in Vietnam's capital Hanoi killed 14 people and injured three others early Friday, local media reported.
