CAIRO -- The Arab League and Egypt welcomed on Friday the order handed down by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which asks Israel to immediately halt its military operation in the southern Gazan city of Rafah.
In a statement, Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul-Gheit said the court's decision reflects the conviction of the judges that Israel has not taken any measures to respond to requests and conditions set by the court in March. (Egypt-AL-ICJ-Ruling)

KHARTOUM -- At least 85 people have been killed during ongoing clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the past two weeks at El Fasher, the capital city of North Darfur State, western Sudan, a United Nations agency said on Friday.
"According to health partners, at least 700 civilians have been injured and 85 people have been killed during the armed clashes since May 10," the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in its latest report. (Sudan-Conflict-Casualties)

CAIRO -- Egypt and the United States on Friday agreed on sending large quantities of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

ADEN -- The Yemeni Houthi group on Friday claimed to have conducted multiple military strikes targeting commercial vessels in regional maritime zones, including the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Mediterranean.
