TEHRAN -- Iran's Interim President Mohammad Mokhber and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on Friday reaffirmed their countries' commitment to expanding bilateral ties.

In a phone call, the Saudi crown prince extended condolences over the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash, according to the official IRNA news agency. (Iran-Saudi Arabia-Ties)

BEIRUT -- Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Friday threatened to launch "surprise" attacks against Israel after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said that he has "surprising" military plans for Lebanon.

"You must expect surprises from our resistance," the Hezbollah leader said during a televised speech.

Nasrallah also claimed that "the resistance" is well-prepared for any surprising attacks from Israel, saying they have "studied all hypotheses and scenarios." (Hezbollah-Israel-Clashes)

KHARTOUM -- At least 85 people have been killed during ongoing clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the past two weeks at El Fasher, the capital city of North Darfur State, western Sudan, a United Nations agency said on Friday.

"According to health partners, at least 700 civilians have been injured and 85 people have been killed during the armed clashes since May 10," the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in its latest report. (Sudan-Clashes-Death Toll)

CAIRO -- Egypt and the United States on Friday agreed on sending large quantities of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

The decision was made during a phone conversation between Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden.

According to an Egyptian presidential statement, this would be a temporary procedure until "a legal mechanism is reached" to resume the operation of the Rafah crossing from the Palestinian side. (Egypt-Aid Delivery-Kerem Shalom) Enditem
