ISLAMABAD, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Two security personnel and five terrorists were killed on Sunday in a counter-terror operation in Peshawar district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said.
The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Hassan Khel area of the district on reported presence of terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the military said in a statement.
In the operation, the security forces effectively engaged the terrorists' location, resultantly five terrorists were killed while three others got injured, said the ISPR.
However, during an intense exchange of fire, a 25-year-old army officer and a 36-year-old soldier had also lost their lives, it added. Enditem
