KABUL, May 27 (Xinhua) -- The counter-narcotic police have seized 403 kg of illicit drugs in western Afghanistan's Nimroz province over the past four days, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said Monday.

The contraband was confiscated during several counter-narcotic operations conducted in various parts of the province, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, Afghan police have apprehended 32 suspects including 10 drug smugglers over the past 24 hours throughout the country, the ministry said in another statement.

They were arrested following operations launched by counter-narcotics police in the provinces of Balkh, Herat, Takhar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Parwan and Kunduz, the statement added.

Most of the detainees were involved in murder and theft cases, the police said, adding that the suspects were taken to concerned departments for investigation and possible legal process. Enditem
