ISLAMABAD, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and several others injured in a collision between two vehicles in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, police said on Tuesday.
According to the local police, the unfortunate incident happened on the Ring Road in Peshawar, the provincial capital of KP province.
Police officials said that two cars collided due to speeding, killing four persons on the spot while injuring several others. One of the injured succumbed to his injuries on the way to a nearby hospital.
Following the accident, police and rescue workers reached the site and shifted the injured to local hospitals.
Road crashes frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads and negligence of road safety measures. Enditem
