LOS ANGELES -- The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Boeing are targeting Wednesday, June 5, for the launch of the first crewed mission of the Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS).

The spacecraft was previously scheduled to launched on Saturday on a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. But the mission was called off minutes before launch due to technical issues. (US-Boeing-Starliner)

JERUSALEM -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Monday that they have confirmed the deaths of another four Israeli hostages taken to the Gaza Strip by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, claiming the Gaza-ruling group is still holding their bodies.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said the Israeli forces estimate "that the four were killed together in the Khan Younis area several months ago" when the Israeli forces were operating there. (Israel-Hamas-Hostage-Deaths)

NEW DELHI -- At least 56 people were killed and nearly 25,000 suspected heat stroke cases recorded in the last three months in India, a local media report quoting federal health ministry said Monday.

"There were at least 56 confirmed heatstroke deaths across the country from March to May, with 46 of them in May alone, according to central (federal) government data," local newspaper Hindustan Times said. (India-Heat Wave-Deaths)

CAPE TOWN -- Severe flooding in multiple locations across the Eastern Cape province of South Africa has killed seven people, while one person remains missing, local authorities confirmed on Monday.

Rescue operations were activated on Saturday as heavy rains continued to fall in parts of Kariega and Gqeberha under the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality as well as East London under the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality in the province. (South Africa-Eastern Cape-Floods) Enditem
