ALGIERS, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Algeria and Oman on Wednesday signed two agreements to boost cooperation in social, scientific, legal, and environment fields, as well as two programs related to youth, sports, and archives, Algeria's official APS news agency reported.

The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the 8th session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Commission, witnessed by Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Hamad al-Busaidi.

During a joint press conference with al-Busaidi, Attaf stated that the session of the joint commission had achieved its desired goals on multiple levels.

He noted that the two countries agreed to complete negotiations on several important draft agreements that will be signed before the end of the year.

The Omani foreign minister, for his part, hailed the strong bilateral relations and expressed confidence that the two sides would increase cooperation across all sectors in the next stage. Enditem
