ULAN BATOR, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia will send a total of 42 athletes to the upcoming Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, as announced by the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) on Friday.
According to the MNOC statement, 33 athletes are expected to compete across nine sports, including marathon, freestyle wrestling, judo, cycling, and swimming at the Olympic Games scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
In addition, nine athletes will participate in six different sports such as swimming, archery, and powerlifting during the Paralympics, set to take place from August 28 to September 8.
Mongolia became a full member of the International Olympic Committee in 1962 and made its Olympic debut in 1964. Since then, Mongolian athletes have accumulated a total of 30 medals (two gold, 11 silver, 17 bronze) across 28 editions of both the Winter and Summer Olympic Games in 16 different sports, according to the national committee.
