BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the Solomon Islands' Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele will pay an official visit to China from July 9 to 15.
Manele, born in April 1968 in the Solomon Islands, was elected a member of the parliament in 2014. In 2015, he served as the leader of the opposition party in parliament. In 2017, he served as minister of development planning and aid coordination.
In 2019, Manele served as minister of foreign affairs and external trade. In May 2024, he was elected the 13th prime minister of the Solomon Islands.
He has six children with his wife Jocelyn. Enditem
