Afghan gov't comprises 227 development projects in current year's budget

KABUL, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan caretaker government's Ministry of Economy has announced that 227 development projects were comprised in the budget of Persian calendar year 1403, local media reported on Tuesday.

"Of the total 227 projects, 72 are new and 155 are ongoing projects, with a significant portion allocated to the infrastructure sector. Specifically, there are 88 construction projects, 50 service projects, 33 infrastructure projects, 38 technical projects, and 18 development projects funded by this year's budget," Tolonews quoted Abdul Rahman Habib, spokesperson of the ministry, as saying.

The Afghan caretaker government has planned to launch more public utility projects across the war-ravaged country to tackle economic challenges and create more jobs.
