SAO PAULO, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin said on Monday that bilateral trade with China would reach record-high levels in 2024.

Brazil's "neo-industrialization" program, energy matrix transformation, and infrastructure building would present new opportunities for Chinese investors, he said.

"China is Brazil's most important trade partner," Alckmin said via livestream at the close of the Brazil-China Business Council seminar, which aimed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and explore future cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainability.

Alckmin, who also heads the Ministry of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade, emphasized the increasing investment opportunities that Brazil's new industrialization push offers to China.

"We have many options for making progress," he said, citing the neo-industrialization program, the decarbonization of energy sources and the Growth Acceleration Program.

He concluded by highlighting that Brazil and China share common values, including a commitment to development, inclusion, and peace. Enditem
