HANOI -- Vietnam's capital Hanoi reported the first death of streptococcus suis so far this year, a bacterium that comes from pigs, local media reported Tuesday.

KATHMANDU -- Twelve people were killed and six others injured on Tuesday in landslides triggered by incessant rains in Nepal, bringing the death toll to 165 since the monsoon season started in early June in the Himalayan country.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's President Mohammed Shahabuddin dissolved parliament on Tuesday, paving the way for the formation of an interim government following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

SYDNEY -- The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) left the cash rate target on hold at 4.35 percent on Tuesday as inflation is still some way above the midpoint of the 2-3 percent target range.
