Olympics | Chang Yuan becomes China's first woman Olympic champion in boxing

PARIS, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chang Yuan of China claimed a gold medal after beating Hatice Akbas of Turkey 5-0 in the women's 54kg boxing final here on Thursday.

Chang's victory earned China's first ever gold medal in women's boxing at an Olympics. This is Chang's second Olympic appearance, having finished fifth at Tokyo 2020.

Pang Chol Mi of DPR Korea and Im Ae-ji of South Korea took the bronze medals. Enditem
