BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Argentina international left-back Marcos Acuna has completed a free transfer to River Plate after parting ways with Sevilla, the Argentine top-flight side said on Tuesday.
Acuna passed a medical before signing a deal that reportedly ties him to the Buenos Aires giants until December 2027.
"Welcome, world champion," River said in a brief statement on its social media accounts alongside an image of the 32-year-old.
Acuna, who had been tied to Sevilla until June next year, made 149 appearances across all competitions for the Spanish outfit following his 2020 move from Sporting Lisbon.
He has been capped 59 times for Argentina and was a part of the Albiceleste squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Enditem
