North Macedonia sees significant rise in average salaries in June

SKOPJE, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- North Macedonia's average salary level saw a substantial year-on-year increase in June 2024, according to the State Statistics Office (SSO).

A report released Wednesday by SSO reveals that the index of the average monthly salary per employee in June 2024 reached 115.1, compared to 100 in June 2023. The national average monthly salary for June 2024 stood at 62,964 Macedonian denars (approximately 1,137.5 U.S. dollars).

The rise in the salary index was primarily driven by favorable data in the financial and insurance sectors, as well as administrative and support service activities, where the index exceeded 120.

When comparing to May 2024, the salary index also shows a slight increase, standing at 101.5 in June. (1 Macedonian denar = 0.018 U.S. dollar) Enditem
