LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Four wildfires in southeast Montana and northern Wyoming had burned a total of 448,282 acres (1,814.1 square kilometers) of land, according to a Tuesday release from the Southwest Area Incident Management Team.

The team, made up of individuals from a myriad of federal, state and local agencies who specialize in management of large-scale disasters, played a commanding role to contain the ongoing wildfires, including Flat Rock, Remington, Constitution and House Draw fires.

Remington fire, started about 32 kilometers northeast of Leiter, Wyoming, is also burning in several southeast Montana counties. It torched down 196,387 acres (794.7 square kilometers) of land as of Tuesday with 5 percent containment, the authority said, adding the fire behavior was significantly reduced.

House Draw fire, which scorched 174,702 acres (706.9 square kilometers), has 88 percent containment so far.

Combined, 581 firefighters have been fighting the fires, including 14 crews, 14 helicopters, 50 engines, 8 bulldozers and 7 water tenders. Enditem
