SEOUL -- South Korea's foreign reserves grew for the second straight month in August on the back of higher conversion value in non-U.S. dollar assets, central bank data showed Wednesday.
Foreign currency reserves increased by 2.41 billion U.S. dollars from a month earlier to 415.92 billion dollars at the end of August, after rising by 1.3 billion dollars in the previous month, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK). (South-Korea-Foreign Reserves)

BANGKOK -- Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn has endorsed members of a new cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, a royal command said on Wednesday.
According to the official Royal Gazette, the king appointed 35 cabinet ministers as selected by Paetongtarn, including six deputy prime ministers and other ministers, after her endorsement as the new prime minister of the Southeast Asian country last month. (Thailand-PM-Cabinet)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia's approved investments rose 18 percent year on year to 160 billion ringgit (37 billion U.S. dollars) across the services, manufacturing, and primary sectors from January to June, official data showed Wednesday.
The Malaysian Investment Development Authority said in a statement that the growth in investment is backed by 2,948 investment projects, which is expected to create a significant 79,187 new job opportunities. (Malaysia-Investments)

SEOUL -- South Korea and New Zealand on Wednesday agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas including economy, trade, science, and education during a meeting of their leaders here, according to the South Korean presidential office.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia recorded 3.53 million air travelers during the first seven months of 2024, up 20 percent compared to the same period last year, said a State Secretariat of Civil Aviation's report on Wednesday.
