SOFIA -- Two individuals have been confirmed dead after a Bulgarian military training jet crashed on Friday, Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev told reporters.

BAGHDAD -- Two army officers were killed and three soldiers wounded on Friday in an attack by the extremist Islamic State (IS) militants in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk, said a local security source.
The attack occurred in the morning when IS militants opened fire on a military patrol near the town of Dibis, northwest of the namesake provincial capital, Kirkuk, some 250 km north of the capital Baghdad, Salam al-Obaidi from Kirkuk police told Xinhua. (Iraq-IS Attack-Deaths)

NAIROBI -- At least four workers were killed and three others rescued Friday after a sewer line under construction collapsed at a residential estate in Nairobi, Kenya's capital, according to the police.
National Police Service spokesperson Resila Onyango said the incident occurred in the Shauri Moyo area. "They were excavating a sewer line when it collapsed. Unfortunately, we lost four people, and three others were rescued," Onyango said in a statement. (Kenya-Collapse-Casualty)

YANGON -- Floods triggered by a storm in Myanmar have killed 33 people and displaced over 230,000 people in recent days, the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Army) True News Information Team reported on Friday.
