LIMA, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- International tourism in Peru grew by 39.2 percent in the first eight months of 2024, with 2,178,302 foreign arrivals, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) said Sunday.
A Mincetur report, based on data from the National Superintendence of Migration, reveals that 52.1 percent of foreign visitors came from South America, followed by visitors from North America and Europe.
Ursula Leon Chempen, head of Mincetur, stressed the growing interest in Peru, describing it as a "paradise for cultural, nature, and adventure tourism."
"We are working to position the country as an important destination for specialized high-value segments," said Leon Chempen. Enditem
