TOKYO, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 struck Miyazaki Prefecture in southwestern Japan on Monday, the country's weather agency said.
The temblor occurred at 23:13 local time, measuring 3 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7, said the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
At a depth of 20 km, the epicenter was located off the waters of Hyuga-nada in southern Kyushu at a latitude of 31.6 degrees north and a longitude of 131.9 degrees east, according to the JMA.
No tsunami warning has been issued following the quake. Enditem
