RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and seven others injured in a bus accident in Brazil's southeastern state of Rio de Janeiro, local media reported on Saturday.
The bus carrying the American football team, Coritiba Crocodiles, overturned on its way from Curitiba, the capital of Parana state, to Rio de Janeiro, claiming the lives of three players.
The injured who were sent to nearby hospitals for treatment were in stable condition, the reports said.
"In light of this tragedy, all our efforts are focused on supporting our team members and their loved ones," the Coritiba Crocodiles said in a statement.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Enditem
