BEIRUT -- The Death toll in Israeli airstrikes on Monday on southern and eastern Lebanon rose to 182, and 727 others were injured, according to a statement by the Lebanese Health Ministry.

ISTANBUL -- Two pilots were killed when a training plane crashed on Monday in the Turkish northwestern province of Bursa, local authorities said.

TOKYO -- Japan's former Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda was elected the new leader of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan on Monday, beating the other three candidates including lawmaker Yukio Edano who founded the party.
