RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Botafogo manager Artur Jorge admitted on Saturday that he is unsure if he will remain at the Brazilian Serie A club next season as he fields interest from potential suitors.
The 52-year-old, who is contracted to Botafogo until December 2025, said he would not make a decision on his future until later this month.
"My future has some uncertainty at this point, I confess," the Portuguese coach said. "We have had some offers that have already come to us, and my agent has managed all of this in a very direct way."
Jorge joined Botafogo from Braga in April and guided the Rio de Janeiro outfit to its first Copa Libertadores title last month. The Glorioso needs only a draw at home to Sao Paulo on the last day of the season on Sunday to secure its first Brazilian Serie A title since 1995.
"I said to my agent that I didn't want to be bothered or involved in anything until the end of the season," Jorge said. "I had, and still have, two major goals: winning the Libertadores, and now the Brazilian Championship. I don't want to lose our focus."
He added: "I'm aware of the possibilities and they have been presented very clearly to [owner] John Textor and the entire Botafogo board of directors. They have everything on the table, so everything is clear. But we'll wait until the end of the season." Enditem
