SINGAPORE, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Ministry of Manpower announced an update to the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) for the security sector on Tuesday, with a wage increase for part-time and ad-hoc security officers set to take effect from 2026 to 2028.

Building on the wage increase scheme already in place for 2024 and 2025, the new three-year schedule will gradually raise wages for part-time and ad-hoc security officers, based on their job levels.

The decision follows recommendations from the Security Tripartite Cluster, a group comprising industry associations, employers, unions, and government agencies.

This update is part of the broader PWM, which was introduced in 2014. The PWM mandates employers to pay eligible workers at least the PWM wage and provide training. It has been gradually expanded to more sectors since its introduction. Enditem
