Carthage Film Festival kicks off in Tunisia

TUNIS, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The 35th edition of the Carthage Film Festival (JCC) kicked off on Saturday evening in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, the organizer of the festival announced.

The festival, which runs until Dec. 21, will feature 217 films from 21 countries, according to the event's organizer.

The festival, supported by the Tunisian Ministry of Culture, has four main competitions, one for feature narrative films, one for feature documentary films, one for short narrative films, and one for short documentary films.

A special program titled "Palestine at the Heart of the JCC" will be held during the festival, the organizer announced.

Founded in 1966, the JCC is one of the oldest and most prestigious cinematic events in the Arab and North African world. Enditem
