KIEV, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday on an unannounced visit, the local Ukrayinska Pravda media outlet reported.

During his trip, Pistorius is expected to discuss Germany's further military support for Ukraine, according to the report.

"It is important for me to demonstrate with this visit that we remain committed to actively supporting Ukraine," Pistorius was cited as saying.

The German defense ministry has confirmed the visit, media reports said.

As of December 2024, Germany has provided or committed military assistance to Ukraine worth approximately 28 billion euros (about 28.72 billion U.S. dollars), according to data from Germany's federal government. Enditem
