Kyrgyzstan's economy grows 9 percent in 2024: preliminary data

BISHKEK, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 9 percent to about 17 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, showed preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee on Tuesday.

Of the GDP last year, the service sector accounted for 52.1 percent, followed by commodity production industries with 33.4 percent, and taxes on products with 14.5 percent.

The committee's report said the industrial output in 2024 increased by 5.5 percent year-on-year.

Notably, refined petroleum products recorded a growth of 1.9 times, followed by wood and paper products, including printing activities, with 30.5 percent, and food and tobacco products with 20.1 percent, according to the official data. Enditem
