TASHKENT -- Three people were killed and 10 others injured as a result of a gas explosion at a mosque in Andijan region in eastern Uzbekistan, the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Monday.

The incident happened earlier in the day when a gas-air mixture caused an explosion in the bathroom of the mosque, the ministry said. (Uzbekistan-Mosque-Explosion)

MOSCOW -- Russian President Vladimir Putin remained open to contacts with U.S. President Donald Trump, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

PARIS -- The Paris Court on Monday found Marine Le Pen, parliament leader of the French far-right wing party National Rally (RN), guilty of embezzling public funds to pay ghost European parliamentary assistants. The ruling bans her from running for the French presidency for five years.

Alongside Le Pen, eight other RN members in the European Parliament (EP) were also convicted of embezzlement. The 12 parliamentary assistants they hired were found guilty of possessing stolen goods. (France-Court-Le Pen)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli police arrested two suspects on Monday in an investigation known as "Qatargate," which examines alleged business ties between associates of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Qatari government, state broadcaster Kan TV News reported.
