ABUJA -- The death toll of the Lassa fever outbreak in Nigeria has risen to 127, public health authorities said Tuesday.
A total of 674 confirmed cases have been recorded from 4,025 suspected cases reported since the onset of the outbreak in January, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) said in a statement. (Nigeria-Lassa Fever)

WASHINGTON -- The Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE), a nonpartisan think tank based in Washington, D.C., projected on Tuesday that the U.S. economic growth is likely to stall this year amid policy uncertainty.
"Basically, it's a story about a solid foundation giving way to stalled economic growth and higher inflation" due to policy shifts, said Karen Dynan, nonresident senior fellow at the PIIE, who led the forecast for the think tank's semiannual Global Economic Prospects. (U.S.-Economy)

PARIS -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced on Tuesday that France will recall its ambassador to Algeria and expel 12 Algerian diplomatic staff stationed in France in a reciprocal move.
