SUVA, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Fiji's Ministry of Housing has officially launched the National Housing Policy 2025-2030, aiming to improve access to affordable, adequate and inclusive housing across the country.

The new policy prioritizes regulatory reform, the expansion of social housing programs, and enhancing affordability through strategic partnerships and targeted support for low-income households, reported Fiji Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday.

Minister for Housing and Local Government Maciu Nalumisa said the policy lowers housing costs by promoting prefabricated homes and reducing material taxes.

He added that there are institutions that are providing excellent loan packages, as well as very competitive interest rates, to help people acquire units, land, and build houses.

Nalumisa said the policy marks a national commitment to ensuring the right to accessible and adequate housing for all Fijians. Enditem
