COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka aims to double its coconut export revenue this year to 1.7 billion U.S. dollars, state media reported Sunday, citing the Coconut Development Authority (CDA).

DHAKA -- Bangladesh's highest economic policy-making body has approved a bay terminal expansion project worth over 1 billion taka (about 700 million U.S. dollars) for the country's largest Chattogram seaport, a senior official said here Sunday.
Md Omar Faruk, secretary of Bangladesh's Chittagong Port Authority, told Xinhua that the Bay Terminal Marine Infrastructure Development Project was approved at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council chaired by Chief Adviser of the Bangladeshi interim government Muhammad Yunus. KATHMANDU -- Nepal's external trade increased by 16.89 percent in the last nine months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year due to a rise in both imports and exports, the Department of Customs announced on Sunday.
The total trade of the South Asian country stood at 1.49 trillion Nepali rupees by April 13, up from 1.28 trillion rupees during the same period of the previous fiscal year, the department said in a report. (Nepal-Foreign Trade)

YANGON -- The seventh batch of emergency humanitarian aid supplies dispatched by the Chinese government on Sunday arrived at Yangon International Airport, Myanmar, which was hit by a devastating 7.9-magnitude earthquake on March 28.
The aid supplies include 800,000 boxes of amoxicillin capsules, 122,000 bottles of paracetamol and mannitol injection, 225,000 boxes of cefradine capsules, and 480,000 bottles of ibuprofen tablets, with a total weight of 95 tons. (Myanmar-China-Emergency Aid) Enditem
