MANILA, May 4 (Xinhua) -- A woman died while three others were injured in a house fire in Rizal province, just outside of Manila, on Sunday morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection said.
The bureau said the fire, which broke out in the two-level house at around 6 a.m. local time, killed a 48-year-old woman resident.
Initial investigation showed that the victim had already escaped the burning house but ran back to retrieve her laptop computer on the second floor and was trapped by the raging fire.
The victim's elderly mother and 56-year-old brother sustained first-degree burns, and a firefighter suffered a hand injury, added the bureau.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the hour-long fire. Enditem
