JAKARTA, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's central bank reported that broad money supply (M2) grew by 5.2 percent year-on-year in April 2025, reaching 9,390.0 trillion rupiah, down from 6.1 percent in the previous month.
"The expansion was mainly supported by a 6.0 percent increase in narrow money (M1) and a 2.4 percent rise in quasi-money," said Ramdan Denny Prakoso, executive director of Bank Indonesia's Communication Department, on Friday.
M2 growth was also driven by an 8.5 percent increase in credit disbursements and a 21.0 percent contraction in net claims on the central government.
Net foreign assets also grew by 3.6 percent in April 2025, compared to 6.0 percent in March. Enditem
