TOKYO -- Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said here on Thursday that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and Japan must actively draw lessons from that painful memory and history.

ISLAMABAD -- Four terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, officials have said.

BANGKOK/PHNOM PENH -- The Thai and Cambodian armies agreed on Thursday to withdraw troops from a disputed border area, where a brief exchange of gunfire took place on Wednesday, the Thai army said in a statement.
