JERUSALEM, July 6 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli military said Sunday it has struck about 130 sites throughout Gaza over the past 24 hours.

According to a statement from the military, the strikes targeted command and control structures, storage facilities, weapons, launchers, and an unspecified number of militants in Gaza City and Jabalia.

Meanwhile, Gaza health officials reported that at least 33 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli strikes.

The strikes came as Israel is sending a negotiating team to Qatar on Sunday for talks with Hamas on a ceasefire-hostages deal. On Friday, Hamas said it had delivered a "positive" response to mediators over a Gaza ceasefire proposal, adding it is "seriously prepared to immediately enter into a round of negotiations on the mechanism for implementing this framework."

Since Israel resumed its military campaign in Gaza on March 18, at least 6,860 Palestinians have been killed and 24,220 others injured, bringing the overall death toll in Gaza since the conflict began in October 2023 to 57,418, with a total of 136,261 people injured, according to data released on Sunday by health authorities in Gaza.
