DAMASCUS, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa on Wednesday issued a series of decrees establishing the Development Fund, the Sovereign Fund, and the Supreme Council for Economic Development, as part of efforts to support the war-torn country's reconstruction, the state-run SANA news agency reported.
According to the report, the Development Fund is designed to support the restoration and development of critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, water and electricity networks, airports, ports, and communication systems, as well as other essential public services.
The Sovereign Fund aims to implement development and production projects, optimize the use of human and material resources and technical expertise across sectors, and boost economic recovery through targeted and diversified investments, it added.
In a separate decree, Syria also announced the establishment of the Supreme Council for Economic Development with the goal of promoting economic stability, revitalization, and sustainable development. Enditem
