VLADIVOSTOK -- All the 49 people aboard the Russian passenger plane that crashed near Russia's Far Eastern city of Tynda were confirmed dead, Russia's Investigative Committee (IC) said on Thursday.
The An-24 aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, was en route from Khabarovsk to Tynda with a stopover in Blagoveshchensk. The aircraft was expected to contact air traffic controllers at a control checkpoint near Tynda airport, but failed to check in. KHARTOUM-- At least 27 civilians were killed and 43 others injured in a recent attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a village in western Sudan, a volunteer group and an eyewitness said Thursday.
"Yesterday (Wednesday), the RSF launched an attack on the village of Brema Rashid, located north of the city of Al-Nuhud in West Kordofan State, leaving 27 civilians dead and 43 others seriously injured," the Sudanese Doctors Network, a volunteer group, said in a statement. DAMASCUS -- At least six people were killed, including a woman and a child, and 140 others injured as a powerful explosion rocked the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib on Thursday, state-run SANA news agency reported citing a non-final toll by the Syrian health authorities.
The blast, which occurred near the village of al-Foua in northern Idlib in proximity to camps housing displaced families, ignited massive fires, sent thick columns of smoke into the sky and triggered an emergency response, including ambulances rushing to the scene. (Syria-Idlib-Explosion)

PHNOM PENH/BANGKOK -- Cambodia and Thailand on Thursday traded accusations following the escalating situation along the border areas.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Thursday urged the United Nations Security Council to convene an urgent meeting to discuss the matter.
