PYONGYANG/SEOUL -- The South Korean military on Tuesday conducted "a serious provocation," firing more than 10 warning shots at soldiers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday.
The DPRK soldiers were working on a permanent barrier project near the southern border line at that time, the KCNA said, citing a senior military official in its report. (DPRK-ROK-Shot)

NEW YORK -- Five people were confirmed dead as a tour bus crashed in the U.S. state of New York on Friday afternoon, the New York State Police announced.
The accident happened on Interstate 90 in Pembroke, Genesee County while the bus carrying more than 50 passengers was returning from Niagara Falls to New York City. (US-Bus Crash-Death)

TEHRAN -- Iran and European powers will resume talks on Tehran's nuclear program and sanctions relief on Tuesday, Iran's Foreign Ministry said, days before a deadline set by France, Britain and Germany to trigger a "snapback" sanctions mechanism.
The decision followed a joint phone call on Friday between Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the foreign ministers of France, Germany and Britain -- Jean-Noel Barrot, Johann Wadephul and David Lammy -- and European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, the ministry said. MOSCOW -- The Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday that its forces have taken control of the settlements of Kleban-Byk and Sredneye (Serednje) in the Donetsk region.
