KABUL -- Construction of five water supply projects was launched in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province on Saturday, the state-run Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) reported.

Initiated by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Shirzad, Khoyani and Bati Kot districts at a cost of 26.6 million afghani (around 398,000 U.S. dollars), the water supply networks will provide clean water to 1,750 families after completion, the report said. COLOMBO -- The Sri Lankan government will launch a nationwide campaign to eradicate the illicit drug menace, a senior minister announced on Saturday.

HANOI -- The Vietnamese government has approved the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project with a total investment of about 120.4 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 4.6 billion U.S. dollars), local newspaper Lao Dong (Labor) reported Friday.
