ISLAMABAD -- Seven terrorists were killed during an operation of security forces in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, the military said on Friday.

JAKARTA -- The death toll from the collapse of a school building in Indonesia's East Java province has risen to eight, a senior rescue official said Friday.

HONG KONG -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy ships Qi Jiguang and Yimengshan wrapped up their three-day open ship events on Friday morning and departed the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) for Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore.
A farewell ceremony by the PLA Hong Kong Garrison took place around 10 a.m. at the pier of the Stonecutters Island Naval Base, where the commanding officer of the fleet thanked the HKSAR government and the public for their warm support. VIENTIANE -- The Lao weather bureau has issued a nationwide warning for continued rainfall as tropical storm Matmo approaches, urging the public to stay alert and prepare for potential flooding and landslides.
