RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Uncapped Nottingham Forest goalkeeper John Victor has been called up to Brazil's squad for friendlies against South Korea and Japan, the Brazilian Football Confederation said on Sunday.
The 29-year-old replaces Ederson, who was released after suffering a torn hamstring while training with his club Fenerbahce on Saturday.
John joined Nottingham Forest in August from Botafogo, with whom he won last year's Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores double.
Brazil will meet South Korea in Seoul on October 10 and Japan in Tokyo four days later.
Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he will use the friendlies to fine-tune preparations for next year's FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Enditem
