CAIRO -- An agreement was reached on Thursday to establish a ceasefire and end the war in Gaza after two years of suffering and woes, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said.

ALMATY -- Six people were killed in a fire at a farmhouse in the Pavlodar Region of northern Kazakhstan, the Kazinform news agency reported on Thursday.

The blaze completely engulfed the residential building of the farmhouse -- located 7 km from the village of Solnechny -- causing a partial collapse of the roof and spreading to nearby outbuildings to cover a total area of 920 square meters, according to the regional Department of Emergency Situations. BRUSSELS -- The world has just experienced its third warmest September on record, with land and sea surface temperatures remaining persistently high, the EU's climate monitoring network reported on Thursday.

The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) said that the global average surface temperature in September this year was 16.11 degrees Celsius, down by 0.27 degrees and 0.07 degrees from the same month in 2023 and 2024, respectively, but still 1.47 degrees above pre-industrial level.
