KATHMANDU -- Nepal's external trade surged in the first three months of the current 2025-26 fiscal year due to rising exports and imports, the Department of Customs said on Sunday.
The total volume of foreign trade grew 26.04 percent year-on-year to 540.86 billion Nepali rupees between mid-July and mid-October, the department said in a report. (Nepal-Foreign Trade)

COLOMBO -- Over 31,000 Sri Lankans have been affected by the current heavy rains, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said on Sunday.

ISLAMABAD -- Five soldiers and 25 terrorists were killed in two separate military engagements in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Sunday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement that personnel of security forces effectively engaged with terrorists trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan and Kurram districts of the province. NEW DELHI -- The driver of the double-decker sleeper bus that went up in flames killing 20 and injuring many others in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh was arrested, police said Sunday.
