MINSK -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday warned that Western countries are openly gearing up for a large-scale conflict in Europe.

During his speech at the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, Lavrov blamed Western nations for undermining arms control agreements and continuing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO's) eastward expansion despite earlier promises to the contrary. (Russia-Belarus-FM)

JERUSALEM -- Israel said on Tuesday that the remains handed over by Hamas on Monday night were in fact body parts belonging to a hostage whose body had already been recovered by the Israeli army around two years ago.

In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said Israel regarded the handover as "a clear violation" of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, adding that a security meeting would be convened later on Tuesday with senior defense officials to discuss Israel's response. (Israel-Hostage)

NAIROBI -- At least 12 people were killed after a light aircraft crashed in Kenya's coastal county of Kwale early Tuesday, local authorities said.

ISTANBUL -- At least 19 people were injured after a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Türkiye's western province of Balikesir late Monday, authorities announced on Tuesday.
