COLOMBO -- At least one person was killed and around 40 others injured when a private bus overturned in Thalawa, Sri Lanka's North Central Province, on Monday, local media Ada Derana reported, citing the police.
According to the police, students sitting for the nationwide G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination were among passengers on the bus, which veered off the road and toppled into a 5-foot-deep ditch. The injured have been taken to nearby hospitals. (Sri Lanka-Bus Accident)

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia exported a total of 65 million tons of coal in the first 10 months of this year, the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA) said Monday.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani security forces killed 20 terrorists in two separate operations in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military wing of the Pakistan Army, said eight militants were eliminated in an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district, while 12 more were killed after a firefight in Dara Adam Khel. (Pakistan-Military Operation) Enditem
