ZAGREB, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Croatia's largest annual book fair opened in Zagreb on Tuesday, bringing together more than 360 exhibitors from 15 countries around the world.

The 47th International Book Fair, or the Interliber 2025, will strengthen Croatian publishing and promote books, authors, reading, science, and knowledge, said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic at the opening ceremony.

"That is why I am not surprised that this year there are even more exhibitors ... which shows the attractiveness of the Interliber for all those who live for books and bring new titles to the public," he added.

Zagreb's Mayor Tomislav Tomasevic, who was also present at the ceremony, said the Interliber showcases the Croatian people's love for books.

Considered the most important national literary event in the country, the Interliber will run until Nov. 16 and bring together authors, publishers, and readers of all generations.

Dina Grozdanovic Postolka, organizer of the event, emphasized that it is not just a book fair, but also a festival. "We offer a wide range of programs on four stages every day, from book promotions and talks, to professional programs for the publishing industry, numerous workshops, and interactive quizzes for all generations," she told Xinhua.

The Interliber was co-organized by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media and the City of Zagreb. Enditem
