GAZA, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Three Palestinians from the same family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Sunday, while the Israeli army destroyed a residential building in the central Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.
Local sources said that an Israeli drone targeted an apartment building in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip with at least one missile at dawn, causing a large explosion and a fire.
Palestinian medical sources told Xinhua that the Israeli airstrike killed three people: a man, his wife, and their child. Three others sustained injuries of varying severity and were taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian fisherman was moderately wounded on Sunday morning by Israeli naval fire off the coast of Gaza, according to the city's fishermen's committees.
The Israeli army also carried out a demolition operation targeting buildings and facilities within its controlled areas east of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip and Khan Younis in the south.
This comes as eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army destroyed a house in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip after issuing a warning to evacuate a residential block in the area via telephone, causing a large number of families to flee.
In recent days, the Israeli army has resorted to issuing evacuation orders for residential blocks in various parts of the Gaza Strip, followed by bombing and destroying residential buildings. The army has not issued any comment on these actions. Enditem
